Penguins
An enchanting colony of African penguins can be found on Boulders Beach – now, deservedly, a nature reserve.
Navy Base
Fascinating for navy buffs, the base is also responsible for a great deal of the character of this charming town.
Shopping
Lots of quirky shops and galleries, both here and a little along the coast in the hippy village of Kalk Bay. Some great restaurants too.
History
Simon’s Town is a delightful combination of British colonialism and traditional Muslim and Malay culture.
Location
An hour from the city centre, but on the warmer water side of the peninsula. It is also a gateway to the Peninsula National Park.
